The Specialist Cheesemakers Association does not offer cheesemaking courses, nor does it officially endorse any of the professional, commercial courses listed below. These are for suggestion only and it is up to the student to decide what training may suit them best.
Based at Wellbeck in Nottinghamshire the School of Artisan Food offers a range of in-depth professional courses, from the fundamentals to specifics on particular cheese types. Run by visiting consultants and industry professionals. As well as the professional courses above, the School of Artisan food also offers many single- and two-day courses to introduce people to cheese making, run by dairy professionals and cheese-makers.
Academy of Cheese are an impartial, not for profit organisation here to promote cheese knowledge, cheese education and careers in cheese. Academy courses educate both consumers and professionals through four levels of certification culminating in the highly anticipated accolade of Master of Cheese. The Academy was set up to support Cheesemakers, with the aim of securing a thriving industry to operate in, with a captive audience of engaged consumers. A large part of the initial vision for the Academy was to create a world where cheesemaking can remain an aspirational way of life for many.
Other providers of cheese-making workshops include local dairies and farmhouse cheese-makers.
